Folds of Honor

Entry Details

Each year the Carolinas Chapter selects a local charity to assist through funds raised and donated by our Members.  This year we continued our association with Folds of Honor Palmetto Chapter, a charity organization that raises money to fund scholarships for the families of fallen and disabled military veterans. Children and spouses who may have otherwise lost the opportunity to continue their specific education undertakings - from kindergarten to college - are given the chance to achieve their educational goals.  We chose this military-based organization based on its extremely high charity ratings and the fact that everyone can relate to this type of need.

Implementation

We approached the local Folds of Honor Chapter and began working with them by soliciting donations in numerous ways from our Members.  Our Managing Director was elected to the Folds of Honor Palmetto Chapter Board in order to enhance communications and cooperation between our Chapter and this organization. To date, we have raised over $10,000 for Folds of Honor and have the opportunity this fall to help to raise over $300,000 through an auction and concert in South Carolina. We have had numerous interactions with Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, Founder of Folds of Honor.  Our members have been entirely supportive of this initiative.
