Past Presidents' Dinner

Carolinas Chapter

Entry Details

In recognition of CMAA’s Centennial, the Carolinas Chapter brought together Past Presidents for a special dinner celebrating the leaders who helped shape our Chapter and Foundation.

The evening created an opportunity to revisit Chapter and Foundation history, recognize the contributions of past leaders, and re-engage senior members whose experience and institutional knowledge remain valuable to our future.

As CMAA celebrates 100 years, the dinner was a meaningful reminder that moving forward also means staying connected to the people, stories, and traditions that brought us here.

This enhanced the chapter by re-engaging past leaders, giving new board members historical context to the Chapter and Foundation and created a sense of community among past and current leaders.

Implementation

Past Presidents were invited to a special dinner alongside current Chapter and Foundation leadership. The evening was intentionally designed to be conversational, with discussion centered around Chapter and Foundation history, milestones, traditions, and how each has evolved over the years.

Past leaders were encouraged to share stories, perspectives and favorite memories from their time in leadership, giving newer Board members valuable historical context while creating an opportunity to reconnect longtime leaders with the Chapter.

The dinner also served as a natural tie to CMAA’s Centennial, using the milestone as an opportunity to celebrate where we’ve been while engaging past and current leaders in where we’re headed.
