Chapter Idea Fair
Promoting Membership Through Peer Networking Events
Connecticut Chapter
Entry Details
This year, CMAACT introduced two new peer networking events: the New Member Social and the Intern Manager Mixer. Designed to welcome and connect new and student members, these events have strengthened our chapter by increasing engagement, improving retention, and creating mentorship opportunities. The New Member Social created an immediate sense of belonging, while the Intern Manager Mixer demonstrated CMAACT’s dedication to developing future leaders in club management, building trust and relationships. Together, they expanded inclusion and reinforced our chapter’s purpose as a supportive, forward-thinking association.
Implementation
The New Member Social at The Country Club of New Canaan included a receiving line, mocktails, generously provided by CMAACT sponsors, hors d’oeuvres, a Rotating Round Table Icebreaker, and parting gifts, all of which helped cultivate a better understanding of our association’s supportive nature. The Intern Manager Mixer provided a relaxed setting for students and interns to network with professionals, explore careers, and enjoy a fun AI-focused activity. Member feedback was positive from both current members and those they are welcoming. Both events saw strong attendance, helped build relationships with colleagues, showcased sponsor support, and elevated CMAACT’s role in promoting future club leaders.
