Suited for Success: Reviving the Manager of the Year Award

Reviving the Club Manager of the Year Award has strengthened Chapter pride and engagement by recognizing members who demonstrate outstanding leadership and service. The peer-nominated award honors our history while creating a new tradition through the signature jacket and commemorative pin. It also gives emerging leaders an example of the impact they can make within their clubs, the Chapter, and CMAA.

Implementation

The Chapter revived the award in 2025, renamed it in honor of Dennis G. Murphy, and introduced a peer-nomination and scoring process led by past recipients and two members at large. The award included a custom jacket and commemorative pin to establish a lasting tradition. Members responded very positively to both the recognition of Luis and the tribute to Dennis’s legacy.
