Chapter Idea Fair
Three Things: Crisp, Concise Chapter Communications
Wisconsin Badger Chapter
Entry Details
To keep members engaged and informed without overwhelming them, our chapters, Wisconsin and Greater Illinois, introduced "Three Things" emails. These brief, punchy communications highlight just three important or timely pieces of information in each message, making it easier for members to stay up to date. By focusing on short bursts of relevant news, upcoming events, or key reminders, we’ve improved open rates and ensured that essential chapter information isn’t lost. This approach respects members’ time and attention while keeping chapter communications fresh and highly effective.
Implementation
Throughout the year, “Three Things” emails were sent out at regular intervals, each presenting three succinct updates such as new educational offerings, event reminders, or volunteer spotlights. The content was carefully curated to maximize relevance for all members. Communications were distributed using our email platforms. Feedback from members in both Wisconsin and Greater Illinois chapters has been very positive: they appreciate the straightforward format, clarity, and efficiency. Many have commented that they are now more likely to read the full message and act on the updates, demonstrating that less truly can be more when it comes to effective chapter communication.
