At the 2009 Golf Industry Show (GIS), CMAA partnered with the GCSAA, the NGCOA, and Habitat for Humanity to host special volunteer build days. Attendees helped build homes in New Orleans' devastated areas following Hurricane Katrina and raised $10,000 for the New Orleans affiliate. That year, Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans welcomed 24,000 volunteers and CMAA members were counted in that number.
