Richard Landmark served as CMAA's Assistant Executive Director and Director of Education from 1961-1968. This move emphasized the shift in thinking around the value of the Association as a source of education for club professionals. At this time, the Club Management Institute included six workshops across the country. This shifted the commonly held belief that club managers were just highly skilled servants and instead presented them as experienced, trained, and advancing professionals.
