5 Star Service Recognition Program

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The fact that an employee is always “on stage” and members are always looking for opportunities to recognize and reward the staff has helped to promote a more willingness to make the extra effort and team inclusive attitude amongst staff. We have also noticed more groups of employees or departments are being nominated by peers, supervisors and members, not just the favorite employee. We have found that immediate and public recognition and rewarding can be a great motivator for the staff.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The 5 Star Employee Recognition Program was developed and implemented by the Senior Management team, as a mechanism for employees to receive immediate recognition, and in some cases a monetary reward, for going above and beyond in doing his or her everyday job. The program allows the opportunity for members and guests to be active in recognizing the efforts of staff members. Our members have embraced the program and often use the catch phrase 5 Star Service when acknowledging and praising members of the staff.
