60th Anniversary Celebrations

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

In celebration of the Houston Racquet Club’s 60th Anniversary, we marked this milestone with several signature events throughout the year. These celebrations honored our rich history, recognized our many Inaugural Members, and brought the entire Club community together to celebrate past, present, and future.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The 60th Anniversary Committee was formed to plan the year's celebrations. Throughout the year, the committee hosted events including a Kick-Off Party & Exhibition Match, a carnival, a family fun run, a pool party, the Denim & Diamond Jubilee, and the Winter Festival and Tree Lighting Ceremony. Members purchased over 2,000 60th Anniversary Raffle tickets, raising $14,690 for the Employee Scholarship Fund, with seven Members winning a total of $7,200 in Club prizes. The events became landmark events and were viewed as must-attend by Members, while the raffle provided an opportunity for both the Members to give back to the staff and the Club to give back to its Members.
