A Taste of Romania

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Horseshoe Bay Golf Club is proud to employ international J1-Visa students each season, many of whom return year after year. This year, to highlight their culture, we introduced the wildly successful A Taste of Romania. A themed prix fixe dinner fully designed, prepared, and executed by our Romanian J1 students. This event not only provided an authentic cultural dining experience but was a meaningful triumph with our members. After the dinner, members felt more connected with our J1 students, improving their relationships with facial recognition and a surplus of feedback on the dinner.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

With two weeks of word-of-mouth and social media promotion, A Taste of Romania was offered as part of our regular dinner service. The event received overwhelming member support and enthusiasm, resulting in the highest Wednesday night cover count on record for September, an 86% growth in attendance. Labor was the same as any other dinner service night. The only additional cost for this event was the Romanian flag pins we gave out to each member and employee who attended. A Taste of Romania’s success reinforced the value of celebrating our diverse team while offering members unique, memorable dining experiences. Months after the event, we still hear a lot of great feedback from members about the quality of food, level of service, and exceptional experience.
