All the Little Things

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

“All the Little Things” was a culture initiative introduced at Manasquan River Golf Club following a leadership transition, rooted directly in member feedback about what makes the club feel like family. Rather than prioritizing large-scale programming, the initiative focused on elevating the member experience through intentional, personalized gestures embedded into everyday interactions. These included celebrating member milestones with customized menus and gifts, offering heartfelt support during times of loss, delivering thoughtful surprises, and enhancing on-course experiences by anticipating member needs before they were expressed. Collectively, these efforts strengthened emotional connection, reinforced a sense of belonging, and ensured members consistently felt seen, valued, and genuinely cared for—demonstrating that excellence in hospitality is often defined by the smallest details

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The initiative was implemented by intentionally embedding “All the Little Things” into staff culture and daily operations through employee incentives, appreciation events, and public recognition of team members who exemplified the initiative in real time. Employees were empowered and encouraged to deliver thoughtful, personalized moments for members, and when those moments occurred, they were acknowledged openly and reinforced with small incentive-based rewards. This approach not only aligned staff behavior with the club’s service philosophy but also created consistency and accountability across departments. Member reaction was overwhelmingly positive, with members frequently expressing appreciation for the heightened level of personalization, care, and attentiveness, noting that interactions felt more genuine and that the club experience felt warmer, more intentional, and increasingly reflective of a true community.
