Idea Fair

Athlete's Kitchen

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Athlete’s Kitchen was created to provide healthy food choices with the everyday athlete in mind. The goal is to keep added sugars low (or nonexistent), create nutrient dense foods that promote recovery and strength building, and provide it in a quick “grab and go” container for members of our Club to take with them as they continue their busy day. The Athlete’s Kitchen items are a huge hit with members. They enjoy having food options for food that not only keeps them in line with their goals (the food items also align with gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan diets), and also supports their recovery efforts. This has also led to Club members purchasing more than they have in the past.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Initial ideas and concepts for foods are provided by a trainer, who works alongside the banquet chef at the Club to create the final product. Through research and development, different food options to match the seasons have been provided. All Athlete’s Kitchen items can be found in our Madison Café, located on the ground floor of the Club. This provides easy access to our members as they move through their day. One of our best sellers is the "Noatmeal" which is made with chia seeds and actual oats, which absorb coconut milk, egg and banana with some seasoning. Blueberry with Lemon Zest Noatmeal and Spiced Apple Noatmeal have been our two bestselling products. In addition to Noatmeal, another breakfast creation is Protein Date Bread. The bread is packed with 21 grams of protein with no grains and minimal sugar from the dates. Our breakfast items are brought out into the Madison Café at 7:00am and lunch items are available starting at 10:00am. One of our most popular lunch items is the Root Vegetable Quinoa Bowl. This includes a wonderful array of vegetables such as parsnip, carrot, red onion, turnips and brussel sprouts providing an explosion of flavor from various herbs and seasonings. The growing praise of Athlete’s Kitchen items from Club members encourages the development of new recipes. Athlete's Kitchen has become a recognized brand name for new products which we expect to grow throughout the F&B operation. We’re pleased to provide members with the nutrients they need and the healthy food they desire to support their goals.
