Bourbon and Cigar Night

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

This event gave our membership a chance to experience an event that we typically tie in to our men’s golf events. We were able to present this event to the entire membership, both men and women of all membership categories and still have aspects of what our men’s golf members have only had access to. We were able to combine a social, golf and food and beverage experience into one.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The members were offered the opportunity to participate in just the bourbon and cigar piece of the event or also pair that with an additional steak dinner to follow. We brought in new bourbons that have not been offered at the club before as well as new premium cigars that were included in their entry. Our golf team put together a quick putting contest to tie in some camaraderie, and our bourbon representative donated a golf bag to be raffled off to the members that attended. The feedback was very positive in having something that is typically the favorite event of our male golf members, tied into its own event and offered to the entire membership. It gave our female members the chance to participate as well and prove that not just men enjoy bourbon and cigars! Our non-full golf members were able to enjoy a fun taste of golf with the putting contest that they typically wouldn’t have access to.
