Bowlers Apres Ski

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The Annual Bowlers Formal is a tradition where our largest Club within a Club brings all of their leagues together to celebrate as well as the last event for those running for the Board to campaign before the big vote. The event is planned throughout the year by the Bowling Chairmen and it is their last big Hurrah. With the restrictions and concerns of our members, we could not have the normal 350+ guests gathered in our 3 ballrooms. Instead of foregoing the event, we reviewed what the restrictions allowed- outdoor events and decided how we could gather in the middle of the winter comfortably. We had been starting to create a Ski Club and thought this would be a fantastic theme for members to toss aside their tuxedos and ballgowns and don some fashionable Ski attire.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Took our pavilion and turned it into a Ski lodge. From the Fireplaces, furs, smore’s and coco, the entire space was like stepping off the slopes. The members loved the opportunity to switch it up a little and pull out their best Ski wear.

It was such a hit with the décor, food and entertainment that we have had many members who attended or heard of it ask if we can recreate the experience for one of their private events.
