Idea Fair

Bringing Home The Boss

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The pandemic provided many challenges to redefining the Club's spaces and creating new uses for socially distant activities. The never-before-seen exhibition of Bruce Springsteen photography "Unseen Springsteen" provided a great attraction for members to visit the Clubhouse. It allowed the Club to use it's historic ballroom space that members usually only see for large events and instead experience something special while also staying socially distant. The exhibit helped keep our Club relevant.

The exhibit also provided notoriety, was fun for members to see and talk about, and helped the Club raise money our our non-profit foundation through purchases of the limited edition prints. A special virtual silent auction for members only also provided a great way for members to give back - with proceeds of over $3000 being donated to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The exhibition was implemented in a socially distant way. The printed were set up around the Club's large ballroom space. Catalogs were already created of all the prints and sent digitally to our members. Virtual programming including a discussion with the photographer and virtual tour of the prints helped promote it. Members were excited and provided positive feedback. The exhibition gave many members another reason to visit the Clubhouse and keep the Club a part of their routine.
