Clubhouse Renovation - A Mobile Kitchen & Dining Experience
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
When our clubhouse went under construction, we knew the biggest risk was not the noise or dust, but losing the social heartbeat of the club. Members still needed a place to gather, connect, and enjoy food and beverage together. Rather than going dark, we created The Nest, a temporary mobile kitchen and dining space set on the putting green that kept the club experience alive throughout the 2025 renovation season. This approach proved that renovation does not have to mean disconnection. By creating a thoughtfully designed, temporary dining space, we were able to maintain community and keep operations moving during construction. This concept is easily replicable for other clubs by identifying a central location, securing the proper permitting, keeping service simple yet intentional, and prioritizing connection over perfection.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The putting green was intentionally chosen as a central and familiar gathering spot, allowing members to feel connected even while the clubhouse was offline. A mobile kitchen and service setup was installed to operate alongside construction, and The Nest was designed to feel purposeful and welcoming rather than temporary. Menus and service were adapted to fit the space while maintaining quality and efficiency, and clear, consistent communication kept members informed and engaged throughout the renovation process. As a result, members remained connected during the disruption, with The Nest becoming the go-to place to gather and preserving daily habits and social routines. Food and beverage revenue was protected by maintaining consistent service and engagement, while staff stayed active, visible, and connected to the membership. What could have felt like a compromise ultimately became a feature, turning a construction challenge into a unique, seasonal experience that members fully embraced.
