Courtside Racquet Service: A Pandemic Pivot with Staying Power

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

We found less members stopping by the pro shop during COVID, staying outside for safety and to maintain social distance. Therefore, we created a courtside racquet service to provide members with the opportunity to chat safely with a stringing professional courtside, when a racquet's performance and durability are top-ofmind.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

A pro shop staff member rotates around the outdoor courts, visiting each court at changeover times. Members can schedule a racquet tune up to be completed before their next match or sign up to use a demo racquet the next time they play. Our courtside racquet service has increased racquet stringing output and frame sales, even during a pandemic, and has been so well received by members that it has become a normal part of operations.
