COVID-Friendly Trick-or-Treating

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

With health and safety guidelines in place as a result of COVID-19, and the threat of Halloween at The Country Club of Virginia being canceled, we created candy chutes that saved the day!

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Our candy chutes were built with six-foot mailing tubes, PVC pipes, glue, paint, and lots of creativity. The candy chutes allow staff and members to maintain social distance and enjoy Halloween safely. Trick-ortreating with candy chutes resulted a 25% increase in participation. Kids enjoyed catching the treats from the bottom of the tubes so much, we are keeping them for trick-or-treating next year.
