Idea Fair

Daily Line-Up & Daily Sheet

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The Club at Ibis initiated a company-wide program called the Daily Line-up. The meeting occurs every day in all departments at the start of every shift. Like a sports team “huddle,” the Line-Up is a pre-shift warm-up that prepares employees for the day and assures important information is consistently communicated to all levels of the organization. The meeting is also a means for positive regular employee interaction through recognizing awards, birthdays and work anniversaries. To ensure consistency in the information communicated at the Line-Up, employees review The Ibis Daily, a daily handout that includes a quote of the day, employee highlights, the day’s calendar of events, a review of an Ibis Service Principle, an HR Topic of the Week, a safety Toolbox Talk and an Ibis employee Story of Excellence.

The practice of starting every shift with a group Line-Up fosters a team atmosphere, which enhances employee engagement and the club’s organizational culture. Additionally, the sharing of important company information and reiteration of performance expectations improves the level of service offered to our membership.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Training manuals: The Ibis Daily handout is the guide that departments follow when conducting the Line-Up, ensuring key information and events are consistently communicated to all levels of the organization.

Coaching: Daily engagement with supervisors during the Line-Up serves to reinforce performance expectations, specifically through the Ibis Service Principle refresher, as well as the acknowledgment of performance accolades and highlighting service achievements.

Continuing education: The Daily Line-Up communicates important company information to all levels of the organization, empowering employees with knowledge and equipping them to perform at their best.

Professional development: Employees are encouraged to take turns leading portions of the Line-Up meetings, creating a sense of ownership for the program and encouraging peer-to-peer training.
