How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Trying to entice members to come to dinner 3-5 nights a week is difficult. One of the way we do this is by themed nights. We used a Sunday night that fell into the same date frame as Dia De Los Muertos. Our Sunday dinner numbers double when there is a theme. This also leads to increased wine an liquor sales. Also and more importantly great member satisfaction.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Our culinary department made traditional and authentic Mexican dishes. The Events team along with the Food and Beverage department decorated the clubhouse. We did mezcal tastings and ran specials on Mexican beers. We hired face painters, had Jose Cuervo bring out their Bronco for a welcome drink, we made an ofrenda(which every member wrote down someone's name) and covered the club in marigold flowers. The club allowed the staff to dress up. We encouraged members to dress up. Members loved getting their face painted and are excited for this to become a tradition.
