Employee Appreciation Days

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Employee Appreciation Days began at Mirasol in 2021 when we started to seek out ways to improve employee morale amid the rising tension in the hospitality industry. A simple “thank you” and “great job” alongside fun treats and giveaways proved successful.

During the month of November, we featured a “fall themed” coffee & donut bar for the team to enjoy before a long days’ work. In December, we stepped it up with an employee bake off. Employees from all club departments were encouraged to bring a baked good and feature for the entire team to try. Our Executive Pastry Chef then conducted a blind tasting and awarded the top bakers with fun prizes. January kicked off with a “wellness” theme. We featured build-your-own acai bowls, healthy snacks, protein bites, and 5-minute massages conducted by our professional massage therapist team.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Beginning in 2022, we added even more days to the calendar, more structure, and kept the theme & date a surprise for the team. Over time, these days have evolved into a vibrant employee program. Our December employee day helped to not only enhance employee morale, but also cultivated a sense of belonging for the entire team. Employees baked traditional goods from their home countries and the sense of pride in the breakroom and around the club that day was overwhelming.
