Employee Meal Calendar

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Cherokee Town & Country Club has implemented an employee meal calendar to better inform our staff of what they can expect to eat in the employee cafeteria. This standard has allowed us to elevate the quality of the staff meal through the control and monitoring of costs associated with this employee benefit. Menus are written and distributed to managers on a weekly basis to post in their areas.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The member of the culinary staff, whose responsibility it is to cook for the cafeteria, writes a monthly menu which is reviewed and revised by the Executive Chef as a training exercise for their development. A weekly menu is then sent to all managers & department heads to post in their areas. The feedback from the staff has been overwhelmingly positive and thanks to this system, we are able to provide an elevated meal for them due to the more stringent cost controls that it allows.
