Frequent Flyer Spin Program

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The CTCC Frequent Flyer Spin Program is a group fitness program that we implemented this past year. Beginning in January, all Spin Class participants voluntarily recorded their miles at the end of each spin class. Mileage totals were calculated weekly and members tracked their progress throughout the year. Mile-stones resulted in class celebrations – a shout out from the instructor, glow necklaces, a card signed by everyone in class, etc. Members who recorded the highest mileage were displayed in the group fitness room each week and acknowledged in our Cherokee Life Magazine at the end of the year. We also held a "Resolution Ride" the following January to celebrate the accomplishments of the last year and encourage members to create new goals for the New Year.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

A log book was created with a list of member numbers along with spaces to record mileage each day of the week. Totals were calculated at the end of each week and updated in the log book. All instructors announced the program in the spin classes throughout January and reminded members to log their miles each class. Members loved the program and even created their own competitions against each other to see who could log the most miles. This program increased overall spin class participation and the fitness of our members!
