Gentleman's Fight Night

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Gentlemen’s Fight Night is an annual event that is truly unique and exciting. This event is for our male members and their guests only. Fight Night is typically hosted in December inside a tennis bubble. We contract with local boxing associations to arrange a series of bouts of standard boxing as well as kick boxing and mixed martial arts. We offer a variety of food and beverages throughout the event as well as musical entertainment. Attendance at this event ranges from 250-350 guests and over the past several years we have seen a steady incline in interest and attendance. This idea has enhanced our club’s operation in a variety of ways. Not only does it provide a traditional style event that our men look forward to every year, but it also created a “buzz” about the Carriage Club as no one quite knows what to expect until they attend the event. Each year our members report that their friends and colleagues beg them to be invited upon learning of the event.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

This idea was originally implemented by a Past General Manager who had attended a similar event at another location and thought that it would be an excellent fit for the Carriage Club to promote the camaraderie between our members and their companions. Seeing as Carriage Club is a hybrid club and does not have a golf course we are always looking for new ways to provide next-level ideas for our members as well as utilize our spaces to their fullest potentials. Many of our members have friends and associates who belong to other clubs in the city and are frequently invited as guests for the other club’s member-guest golf tournaments and the like. Fight Night serves as an avenue for our members to return that favor in a unique and sensational way! The membership’s reaction overall is positive. For many members this is the absolute highlight of their year.
