How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The Nine, Wine, & Dine concept was created more than five years ago as a way for members to play on a Friday night a couple times a year with another couple of members in a fun 9-hole shotgun with a cocktail party following the golf. This event would usually have between 30-40 players each time and the members really enjoyed the event. We enhanced the clubs operation by combining some Food & Beverage revenue that wouldn’t have been there and brought members together that may never have meet before.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

These events have had nothing but extremely positive reaction and have become a member favorite. The staff continued to enhance these events by implementing new ideas over the years and today we hold between seven & nine per year and each one is themed around a holiday or event. We host these Nine, Wine, & Dine events for Halloween, Holiday, Firecracker, US Open, Superbowl, Welcome back, Valentine, as well as the Masters. For each event members pay a flat fee and play with members or bring guest for no additional cost. We also moved half the events to Sunday’s so members who work can play as well. Each event is a 3:00 shotgun and includes cocktails & snacks which are delivered by the professional staff on the course. Members then come in poolside for cocktails & Hors d’oeuvers with wine given out to all winners not matter what place they come in and they then sit down for dinner.

What is the member’s reaction? We now do at least 100 members and some guests at every event and it has brought out some new golfers that have never played before just to have fun. This is one of the best ideas our club has implemented and with enormous success.
