Holiday To-Go Curbside Service

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Holiday Curbside To-Go is a service we offer our Members when they are picking up their holiday (Thanksgiving and Christmas) ‘to-go’ orders. They simply pull up to the main entrance of the Club and the Banquets & Catering Team take care of the rest!

As our Members pull into the front drive they were greeted with directions on which pick-up area they were to go to as holiday music accompanied cheerful servers who were prepared with fresh holiday cookies, hot chocolate and hot apple cider. Tables were lined up on both sides of our main entrance organized alphabetically by the members last name which had all food orders including instructions associated with preparing or heating the food in their order. A manager reviewed each to-go via order form, each box was checked, and then loaded into the members car with a smile. We have not only elevated the Member experience but have also streamlined our operation for a more fluid and efficient experience for our staff. Our to-go orders exceeded over $50,000 in revenue for the season.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The idea started with a simple request made by an Honorary Lifetime Member, Mr. Richard Carter. Sitting in our Pub one day, he asked if he could pull up to the front entrance of the club and have his order brought to him instead of getting out and walking in to retrieve it. The simple concept let the team into an excited discussion in how to execute for every single to-go to be curbside style, not just Mr. Carter’s. The Catering and Banquets team collaborated with valet, front desk, and the security teams to ensure we had every aspect of the idea thought out and covered appropriately.

The reactions from the membership were overwhelming- they were absolutely thrilled. The team enjoyed the experience almost as much as the members did! Aside from feedback on the spot, emails, phone calls and hallway conversations prompted a wonderful buzz around heard around the Club through the New Year. Our Board was sure to let us know this is a member experience that will quickly turn into a tradition. We look forward to executing the idea in 2018 and making the experience even more magical.
