Indoor Skate Night

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Just before COVID-19 came into view in 2020, we had an incredible indoor event: Indoor Skate Night!

To bring the outdoors inside, we had a company come into the Club’s Ballroom and transform it into an indoor skating rink. The floor consisted of plastic polymer tiles that fit right over the carpet and Members could “ice” skate on. The company (Neon Entertainment) provided a 44’ x 32’ “rink” with gating that surrounded the rink, ice skate rental, staff, a DJ and special winter-wonderland lighting. We set up a lounging area by the fire place, offered hot chocolate and cookies, as well as chilly drink specials for the adults!

How was this idea implemented and what have been the club members' reactions?

Both kids and parents alike had a great time on the “ice.” This event also increased revenue in our restaurants, as Members signed up for a one-hour skating session around dinner time!
