Idea Fair
Members Night Out!
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Members Night Out during the February closure enhanced MRGC’s operation by reinforcing connection, loyalty, and continuity even when the physical clubhouse was unavailable.
From an operational standpoint, the event kept members engaged during what is traditionally a quiet period. Rather than allowing momentum to pause during the winter closure, the Club stayed visible, relevant, and connected. This helped maintain strong relationships, excitement, and emotional investment heading into the reopening.
The event also strengthened the Club’s brand identity. By extending the MRGC experience beyond its walls, it showed that the Club is defined by its people and culture—not just its building. This flexibility and creativity elevated how members view the Club: as a community that cares about connection year-round.
Internally, planning an off-property event encouraged teamwork, creativity, and adaptability among staff. It demonstrated that hospitality and service standards travel with the team, not just the location.
Overall, Members Night Out strengthened member loyalty, kept engagement high during downtime, reinforced MRGC’s community-first culture, and showed that meaningful experiences can happen anytime, anywhere.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The Members Night Out was implemented with intention and attention to detail, ensuring the experience still felt distinctly MRGC despite taking place off property.
The team selected La Mondina Restaurant for its warm atmosphere, quality cuisine, and convenient location for members. Planning focused on creating an intimate, curated evening rather than a standard group reservation. Seating, menu selections, and flow of the night were coordinated in advance to encourage conversation and connection, while Club leadership and staff were present to welcome members and host the evening.
Communication played a key role in the rollout. Members were informed of the event as a special opportunity to gather during the winter closure, reinforcing that the Club was still actively thinking about them even while closed. Reservations were managed to maintain a comfortable, social atmosphere.
Member reaction was extremely positive. Attendees appreciated the thoughtfulness of the event and the opportunity to connect during the quieter winter months. Many expressed how meaningful it was to see the Club create experiences beyond its walls and commented that the evening felt personal, relaxed, and true to the MRGC spirit.
