Idea Fair

Myzone March Madness

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

To help keep our members engaged and active during a traditionally slow month, we created the Myzone March Madness fitness challenge. During the pandemic, not everyone felt comfortable using the fitness center, so we utilized Myzone technology so members could work out anywhere, at any time.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The Myzone fitness app was used to invite members with a Myzone belt to participate. Members were then randomly drafted to comprise a total of four teams, each led by a team captain (a Farmington Fitness staff member). Every week, two teams competed against each other to see who could earn the most MEPS (Myzone Effort Points). The Myzone app kept track of all points earned, and the team captains kept participants engaged through weekly emails and fitness strategies.

Engagement on the Myzone app was through the roof! Members increased their workout levels and built excellent team comradery throughout the five-week program. Members were also able to use the Myzone app to upload pictures of their workout, allowing several participants to get creative with photoshopped super-hero imagery and other fun incentives. It was by far the most engaged fitness challenge we’ve ever had outside of the fitness center.
