Open Enrollment Fair

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

In fall of 2018, ROCC changed providers for health insurance, making the Open Enrollment period a critical task for all employees to participate in. Many clubs struggle with engaging their employees in important benefits-related activities. So, why not make it fun? In 2018, ROCC decided to pool the resources available through our benefits providers and host the first ever Open Enrollment Fair! The primary purpose was to educate employees on healthcare insurance during the open enrollment period, but it also offered an opportunity to show off all of our other benefits in a fun and engaging way!

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The afternoon began with English and Spanish Open Enrollment presentations for health insurance benefits, followed by an open event featuring interactive, provider-led booths with vendors such as 401(k), life insurance, payroll systems, nutrition and diet, discounted gym memberships, breast cancer awareness screenings, BMI readings & more!

We also arranged for interactive employee wellness activities such as Spin Bike competitions and Zumba demonstrations, plus chair massage, light bites and refreshments! Over 150 employees stopped by the Fair and the Open Enrollment period was incredibly smooth and successful. ROCC's Employees, Board of Directors, and Member-led Benefits Committee were complimentary of the initiative!
