Idea Fair

Renovation without Demolition

Honorable Mention

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

This approach as part of routine maintenance provides the ability to regularly renovate member areas and visible building elements and finishes, avoids demolition and is a key role in keeping the clubhouse looking pristine without the need to close areas of the building for extended periods of time.  It also has the benefit of significant cost and time savings.

Furthermore, most of these types of renovations avoid the need to produce architectural and engineering documents, as well as the need to file for building permits.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

These focused renovations have been received very favorably by the membership.  They are included in our regular annual work order system to ensure they are funded and scheduled each year.  Not only does this approach create efficiencies within the club’s engineering department, but it ensures that the work is planned and is fully coordinated with other departments to avoid unanticipated interruptions to operations.
