Special Events Magazine
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
We created the Special Events Magazine to not only showcase our beautiful facilities, but to educate the membership on the club and what rooms are available to them for various events. We all have faced the issue of hearing members say "Oh, I didn't know we could do that at the club," or "I didn't even know we had that room here." This magazine has served as a resource for the membership to book their private events with us instead of elsewhere. The magazine is updated and mailed out yearly to the entire membership. The first year we sent this out in 2016 our banquet revenue was $2.2M and in 2018 we finished with $2.5M. This informational magazine showcases the club's banquet facilities in a way that is attractive to the eye and informational to the member. It has had a great financial impact at our club.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
We staged rooms, and gathered photos of rooms from previous events to build a photo album. Our talented event coordinators put together the room details and floor plans with the photos and worked with a local printer to design this beautiful magazine. The members have been so thankful to understand the banquet spaces better at the club, and have commented that they love to show it off to their friends. We have hosted more member events each year and it is in part due to this publication, in addition to quality food, service, and hospitality.
