Idea Fair
Summer Camp
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
With our membership consisting of so many families, the Summer Camp program has become a meaningful way for members to use the club more often and find even greater value in their membership. By offering a fun and safe place for kids during the summer, parents felt comfortable spending more time enjoying the amenities at the club knowing their children were happy and well cared for.
For the kids, camp created a place to build friendships, make lasting memories, and feel connected to the club. Campers enjoyed opportunities to be creative through a variety of themed crafts, explore new STEM and science activities, attend weekly field trips, and work with our golf professionals twice a week through fun games and skill-building. With daily swim time and unique experiences offered throughout the summer, campers were able to try new things they might not typically experience during a traditional summer break. Many friendships formed at camp carried over into other club activities, strengthening the sense of community among our youngest members.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The Summer Camp program was implemented through thoughtful planning and staff training with the goal of creating a fun, safe, and engaging summer experience for kids. Each week offered a fresh, unique theme, ensuring that whether campers joined us for the entire 11-week camp or just a few weeks, they were always experiencing something new and exciting. Camp Staff, including an elementary school teacher as our Camp Director and a college student majoring in elementary education as our Assistant Camp Director, focused on building a welcoming, inclusive environment every day. The member response was extremely positive, with many families sharing that camp quickly became a highlight of their summer and strengthened their overall connection to the club. The program helped position the club as a family-friendly destination where children feel welcome and excited to be. Summer Camp became more than just childcare, it became a place where kids looked forward to coming each day, parents saw real value, and families felt more connected to the club overall.
