"Summer Camp" Employee Event

Winner

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

For our first post-pandemic all-staff meeting in June, we utilized a Summer Camp theme. We started with a funny skit in which our GM showed up on the projection screen ready for a Zoom meeting. When he saw the crowd and “realized” we were meeting in person, he ran out of his office, threw some tee shirts from the balcony to the group, and then ran downstairs to join us in person. Our Club President played the part of a Camp CCV alumnus, and each of our department directors was a counselor.

We put together a working group to plan and execute the event. We set up a tent and campfire, gave away drawstring backpacks filled with goodies, and had a s’mores station (using our firepit tables) out on the terrace. We dressed our “counselors” in khaki shorts and bucket hats.

We also let a few raffle winners enter our Cash Machine, where they could grab as much cash as possible in 15 seconds.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We were able to convey timely and relevant information to our staff in a fun and creative way, and everyone was very excited to be back to meeting and socializing in person after 1 year, 3 months, and 12 days since our last all-staff meeting.
