Summer Event Highlights

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Being in Wisconsin, we want to take full advantage of outdoor weather before winter arrives, so we always try to have a Patio Party in the fall. The changing of the seasons is a good time to update dining menus, so we wanted to incorporate this transition into the event. Our chefs came up with a fantastic tasting menu of items they were considering for the updated menu - which were then paired with beer and wine by our beverage manager. Asking our members for feedback allowed us to ensure we were on the right track with our offerings, as well as providing them with the opportunity to give opinions and feel ownership in the direction of the Club.

Providing things like a low-cost admission fee and live music promised a good turn out. It was a great event!

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We had great success with this event. We started advertising the event in our newsletter and email blasts a few months in advance. We made sure that dining staff knew about it and mentioned it to members that came in for events and dinner.

To encourage participation on the survey, we entered everyone that filled it out into a drawing for a complimentary dinner for two! The member's really enjoyed feeling like their opinion mattered and that they had a say in our food and beverage offerings.

A lot of members mentioned that they hope we do this kind of event again in the future!
