Summer Wellness: Pause to be Present

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The Summer Wellness program is a seasonal health and wellness initiative designed to meaningfully enhance the member experience while expanding the Club’s recreational programming during a period when dedicated fitness and wellness infrastructure is limited. Through a strategic partnership with Pause to be Present, Westchester’s premier mindfulness and meditation studio, the Club brings credentialed wellness professionals on-site to deliver thoughtfully curated outdoor experiences such as Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Sunset Meditation, and Sound Baths by the pool.

What distinguishes this program is its intentional, partnership-based response to an infrastructure gap, guided by a member-first lens. Rather than delaying wellness offerings, the Club integrated expert-led, restorative experiences into existing Club environments - allowing members to engage with wellness in an accessible, welcoming, and meaningful way. Operational responsibilities are clearly defined and efficiently managed: Club leadership and staff oversee promotion, registration, scheduling, and on-site coordination, while the visiting experts lead the instruction and delivery of each class. During sessions, staff remain present to supervise accommodations and support members as needed, ensuring a seamless and elevated experience.

This collaborative structure enhances Club operations by activating underutilized outdoor spaces, diversifying wellness and recreational programming beyond traditional sports, and delivering high-quality health-focused experiences with minimal operational complexity or disruption to daily Club activities.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The program is implemented as a curated summer series, developed collaboratively with Pause to be Present to align with seasonal rhythms and how members naturally use the Club during the summer months. Instructors travel to the Club for each session, while Club management oversees scheduling, promotion, and on-site coordination to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience.

Member reaction has been exceptionally positive, with strong attendance, repeat participation, and consistently enthusiastic feedback. Members frequently cite the sense of calm, connection, and accessibility the series provides, as well as the opportunity to experience the Club in a new and meaningful way. The program has resonated across age groups and activity levels, including members who may not regularly participate in golf or racquets, reinforcing the Club’s role as a place not only for recreation, but for restoration, community, and overall well-being.
