Idea Fair

Sunset Sips

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Sunset Sips enhanced Club operations by introducing a relaxed, low-cost social series that responded directly to member feedback and strengthened connection among members. Designed as a complimentary, outdoor experience, the four-part series created an easy, approachable way for members to gather, enjoy live music, and socialize without the formality or commitment of a traditional event.

By intentionally incorporating conversation starters at each table, the Food & Beverage team added a simple but effective layer of engagement that encouraged interaction, helped members meet new people, and reinforced a sense of community. Sunset Sips demonstrated how thoughtful, low-lift programming can deliver high-impact engagement while complementing existing dining operations.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Sunset Sips was implemented as a four-part outdoor series held during a slower seasonal period, requiring minimal setup and staffing. Each event featured live music and the option for members to purchase beverages and snacks, while remaining complimentary to attend. Staff-created conversation prompts were placed on tables to encourage mingling and connection.

Member response exceeded expectations. Attendance was strong across the series, and many participants chose to stay on campus to dine at the Club afterward. Members consistently shared positive feedback about the relaxed atmosphere and opportunity to connect, leading the team to view Sunset Sips as a repeatable model for future social programming.
