Idea Fair

Superhero Training

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

We featured Superhero Training during one of our Sunday Family Barbeque events. Two superheroes greeted the children, "issued" them capes and masks and invited them to participate in training to become a superhero They began with warm-up exercises then ran through an obstacle course, which featured a water gun shoot out. Our Sunday Family Barbeque series was implemented as a way to bring families to the Club, not just parents and children, but grandparents with their grandchildren.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We work closely with an area children's party company throughout the year for many of our children's events. They supplied the "superheroes) and the obstacle course. We purchased the capes, masks and certificates through an internet company. The event was a huge success, for both boys and girls, with many members saying it was the best of the Sunday Family Barbeque series.
