The DAC Playbook

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

As the DAC has grown in scale, complexity, and member expectations, leadership recognized the need for a unifying resource that communicates who we are, what we stand for, and how we serve. The DAC Playbook was created to bring the Club’s mission, promise, and core values into one accessible guide—ensuring every staff member understands the standard of excellence the DAC is known for. More than a handbook, the Playbook is a cultural anchor that reinforces the belief that every interaction contributes to enriching members’ lives.

The DAC Playbook meaningfully improves service culture and operational alignment by:

  • Establishing a shared language that bridges departments and shifts.
  • Bringing consistency to coaching and performance expectations.
  • Reinforcing that culture is lived daily through decisions, behaviors, and follow-through.
  • Supporting leaders in developing teams who understand not only what to do, but why it matters.
  • Creating a culture of shared responsibility, where every employee recognizes their role in delivering exceptional member experiences.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Implementation

Defining the DAC Standard: Leadership collaborated across departments to articulate the Club’s purpose, core values, and annual service focus (“Every interaction. Every member. Every time.”). The language is clear, actionable, and applicable to all roles.

Designing an Everyday Tool: The result is a pocket-sized reference that outlines expectations, behaviors, and service principles in a format useful to both new and long-tenured staff.

Embedding It into the Employee Experience:

  • Introduced during an all-staff meeting and now a foundational part of new hire orientation.
  • Used in pre-shift huddles and department meetings to align daily priorities.
  • Integrated into coaching, evaluations, and leadership development to ensure standards are taught and reinforced consistently.

Staff Reactions
