The Loop: Desert Mountain Club’s Communication Framework
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
As Desert Mountain Club has grown, leadership needed a clear, consistent way to inform members and strengthen connection. The Loop is our communication framework built around four pathways—READ, WATCH, LISTEN, and ENGAGE—so Members can receive information in the way that works best for them.
By organizing and reinforcing messages across channels, The Loop reduces missed communication, improves understanding, and strengthens operational alignment. Desert Mountain Studios serves as the hub for WATCH and LISTEN pathways, delivering timely video and audio content that connects Members directly with Club leadership and operations.
Most importantly, The Loop creates a true feedback cycle—closing the loop between the Membership and the Club operation.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The Loop unified existing and new tools into one branded system. Members can READ via the Mountain Minute (weekly newsletter), website, app, and text alerts; WATCH DMTV content produced in Desert Mountain Studios and across the Club; LISTEN through podcasts and audio updates; and ENGAGE through the Member Experience Program (MX) through 1:1 outreach calls, QR-code surveys on receipts, topical surveys, and Mountain Update & Mixers with live Q&A. Members feel more informed, connected, and heard.
A studio helps, but isn’t required. With basic lighting and mobile devices, any club can produce content onsite. The innovation is the framework—making The Loop scalable and transferable.
