Idea Fair
The Polar Express!
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The Polar Express Kidz Night Out has enhanced club operations by intentionally aligning youth programming with existing member events, allowing the club to maximize space, staffing, and overall engagement during high-traffic evenings. By offering high-quality child experiences, the program increases attendance and enjoyment of club functions while providing families with a trusted option for their children.
Operationally, The themed format encourages creativity while remaining cost-effective, using simple materials to deliver a high-impact experience. This approach elevates Kidz Night Out from basic childcare to a value-added amenity that enhances the member experience, reinforces the club’s family-friendly culture, and supports long-term member satisfaction and retention.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The event was implemented using a clear Activity timeline, simple materials, and Prep work from staff assembling the Trains ahead of time to maximize decorations and fun.
Member response was extremely positive. Parents especially enjoyed seeing their children move through the ballroom during the event, which created a shared sense of excitement and connection between family programming and the broader club experience. Because Kidz Night Out events are offered exclusively during other member events, families greatly value having reliable, on-site childcare that allows parents to fully participate in club functions. This model has strengthened event attendance, enhanced the overall member experience, and reinforced the club’s reputation as a family-focused community.
