Idea Fair

The Waterbury Clock

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Upon my arrival to The Country Club of Waterbury, this “Staples” Wall Clock was what hung in the Grill Room. Not historically representative of a 125 year old Donald Ross Club from Central Connecticut One of the immediate goals, now that the room was semi renovated, was that I was charged with significantly elevating the interior space of the Grill Room at The Country Club of Waterbury. Given that Waterbury Connecticut was, at one time, the Clock Capital of the United States, the obvious choice was a Waterbury timepiece. It was no easy feat. After several months of unsuccessful searching and hunting, a Vendor and Source was secured.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Today an Antique Day / Date 1855 Regulator sized Waterbury Clock now sits proudly on the wall in our beloved Grill Room to ensure that all are on the 1st Tee in a timely manner.
