Idea Fair

Training and Development

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

At the Houston Racquet Club, we have introduced a new standalone department – Training and Development. This department was created to present innovative, fun and productive trainings that are consistent in each department. The T & D department assists all departments with on-boarding, managing all training schedules, maintaining updated records and develops relationships with our new team members. Our T & D plan is energize our Club and capture employee’s participation.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Thomas Preuml, our COO, wanted to focus on Training and Development to organize and streamline all T&D processes. The Club hired a Director of Training and Development to build the initial and on-going relationships with all Club employees. The members are very excited about this initiative and can even submit their feedback via comment cards, which we are in turn using for our own weekly training focus'. The members definitely see a shift in our direction and are really behind each step we take to create those exceptional experiences!
