Idea Fair
Transportation Department
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Our Transportation Department has been operating for over 12 years, and we now have two 14-passenger Mercedes Sprinter Vans in our fleet. This member amenity is managed by our Transportation Manager, Dave Johnson, who has been at the club for over 15 years. The mission of our Transportation Department is to make CCC more accessible for our members and their guests, provide a unique amenity, and enable members and their guests to travel in comfort, style, and safety.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
With the expansion of our fleet, we have created more opportunities for members to utilize our services both on and off campus. Our Sprinter vans transport members to events such as concerts, sporting events, golf tournaments, and club functions, and are also used to deliver food to members’ homes. Our shuttle is additionally used to transport members’ children to summer camps and after-school clinics, as well as to take them on “field trips” to local attractions such as Carowinds and pumpkin patches. Due to the current golf course renovation, parking has been limited, as the golf parking lot is being used as a staging area. Having a second shuttle allows one vehicle to be dedicated exclusively to members, while the other is available to shuttle employees from off-site parking to the club during large event days.
