Idea Fair

Trick or Treat Trail

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Halloween was a very unknown holiday in 2020 and we were tasked with creating an alternative to our Annual Halloween carnival. The idea was to create a safe trick or treat experience for our members and their kids. We also wanted to hold it early in the day so they could still attend regular trick or treating if the state (NC) allowed. The team built multiple candy stations around the club. This was an all-hands-on deck approach as team members from both Golf, Tennis and Grounds were a part of the event. We had a DJ, character photo ops, a photo booth and some unique candy distributions such as Candy Chutes and a Cotton Candy drop off the balcony. We also offered family style meals and take out at the conclusion of the event.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The members were very appreciative of having a safe event for the kids, and actually want us to continue this event every year. It was a great day to see so many members out after being restricted for so long, and everyone followed the rules and stayed safe!
