Walk/Run 2020 Program


How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

To help our members escape the malaise created by COVID-19 lockdowns and 2020’s ever-changing activity restrictions, the Farmington Fitness team invited everyone to simply keep moving by participating in our Walk/Run 2020 program! Our goal was to collectively walk or run a combined total of 2,020 miles. The program allowed members to participate from anywhere. Whether at the club, in their homes, at the park, or on a hiking trail, members could maintain social distancing while walking or running towards a common goal.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Held during the month of August, a total of 120 members and staff joined together to participate in the Walk/Run 2020 program. As a group, we tripled our mileage goal. We even had people from all over the country participate! To help promote the event, we created a promotional video and provided an online link for members and staff to easily register and submit their weekly results.
