We Opened Our Pantry

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

As many clubs are hospitality entities alike were greatly affected by covid, all had to adapt to the new "norm". When operations first began to slow down one of the first ideas we thought of was The Mirasol Pantry. As many of our members did not join us at the club or even leave the community, this was the perfect idea. Members Place orders online or through our reception team. Items ranged from household goods to perishable food items. Orders were packed each morning by staff and food items were prepared by our culinary team. When placing their orders our members would give pickup times as to when they would like to pick up their orders. As the popularity of the pantry grew we began to add more items and do specialized pantry orders. This summer when were expecting a hurricane we created 'The Hurricane Pantry". In this pantry items ranged from batteries, flashlights, nonperishable items and even wine! Our pantry is still going strong as we continue to add and grow with it.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The order process is done in a online form or through our receptions team. Once orders are placed the night before pickup receptions takes the order data and creates spreadsheets are to quantities of items needed. Staff packs orders each morning. Individual member order sheets are kept with a staff member at our valet. As members pull up and we received the member number the order is retrieved and placed in the trunk. Our membership has been very supportive of this idea. Some use this as their sole way of getting grocery items. Members have loved to see the way the pantry has evolved and continues to evolve.
