Please Respond: CMAA Coronavirus Survey Closes Sunday, March 22
As the nation is impacted by the novel coronavirus, CMAA has developed a brief survey to collect data on how clubs are impacted by this national pandemic. This survey will be open through Sunday, March 22, and is being sent to the most senior manager at each club as we request only one response per club.

Take the Survey.

Results of the survey will be disseminated the week of March 23. CMAA plans to push this survey out on a regular basis as the impacts of this pandemic are changing quickly. If you have any questions, please contact CMAA’s Research Department. CMAA thanks you for contributing to this survey. We hope you, your family, and club community are staying safe and well during this uncertain time.

CMAA University, Part of Your CMAA Membership, Offers COVID-19 Resources
We've created a section on CMAA University addressing preparations for pandemic viruses. Once you login, visit CMAA Member Education > COVID-19 Resources.

CMAA University and all resources on COVID-19 are complimentary to CMAA members. If you don't know your login information, please contact us through this online form: https://www.cmaa.org/resources/contact/cmaau.html.

The content is curated from past applicable session recordings and a new course called Healthy Habits eStart™.

Healthy Habits eStart™ is a 30-minute infectious disease awareness program that provides staff with critical information to prepare for, respond to and prevent the spread of infectious disease - the common cold, flu and COVID-19/Coronavirus - in the foodservice workplace. Using CDC and NIH recommendations and protocols to educate on best practices, this interactive training program is specifically tailored for the foodservice industry.

Healthy Habits eStart™ has also been added to the Club Resource Center subscription, for subscribers to extend the course to their staff. Learn more about the Club Resource Center here.

CMAA is planning additional CMAA webinars specifically on how clubs can prepare for COVID-19. The recordings of these webinars will also be available as soon as they are recorded on CMAA University within CMAA Member Education > COVID-19 Resources

Unexpected Delay in Posting Conference Credits
We are currently experiencing an unexpected delay in the posting of Education credits for attendance and individual sessions. The survey responses were successfully captured and the information from them will be imported into the database once the issue is resolved. Our team is working diligently toward a resolution.

We appreciate your continued patience. We will be in touch as soon as credits are posted.

For further questions, please contact the Professional Development Department.

This mid-year dues break is available April 1-August 31 and marks a great time for Student Chapters to recruit new members. Club Takeout Ready to Explode
During this time, one thing is for certain – members are going to eat. The private club consumer is also a consumer that enjoys having their food prepared on their behalf. Eating at their private club is an experience for which many affluent consumers enjoy on a consistent basis. However, for the short time being, there may become some reluctance to go out to the club to dine.

DHS Details Additional FY2020 H-2B Visas with Conditions
At the end of December, Congress gave the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) the discretion to release additional H-2B visas for FY2020. Read more about the allotment and additional conditions placed by DHS in the Legislative Report.

Understanding the Impact of the Navigable Waters Protection Rule
In January, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) issued the Navigable Waters Protection Rule, permanently replacing the repealed 2015 Waters of the US (WOTUS) rule which dramatically expanded federal jurisdiction over waters and wet areas in the US, including most water bodies on golf courses.

Learn more about how this rule will benefit local water advocates in sustainability efforts directly from GCSAA Member and Golf Course Superintendent Matt Ceplo, CGCS, in this recent op ed in the USA Today Network

Ceplo works at the Rockland Country Club in Sparkill, NY. In 2013, he was awarded GCSAA’s President’s Award for Environmental Stewardship. CMAA and GCSAA participate in the Waters Advocacy Coalition, which advocates for clear rules and clean water.
