Student Mentorship Program

Description

This idea has helped us equipped the future generation of leadership in our chapter. Those members that participated in this program have been incredibly active in all of our activities and events. This idea has helped us build the next exec board and give them all the tools and support necessary to keep the chapter improving.

Implementation

During out Kick-Off meeting we presented this idea alongside a google form application for the mentorship program where members answered questions about their interests. This helped us paired them with an executive board member. We established a program guide for each pairing to follow and required certain meeting dates and feedback during check-ins. Every month, the president would check in with each pair to see if the program was working well. For the members that participated actively, this offered a lot of value to them and they were incredibly content with the relationships they were building with the leadership of the chapter. They liked that they could have access to our executive board in a less intimidating way and be vulnerable with the questions and concerns they had!
