New Member Initiation Ceremony

Description

This idea set the tone for how our members would feel about our chapter for the rest of the year. This idea made them feel special and helped our board build rapport with our members to encourage them to take advantage of what the chapter has to offer. All of the new members inducted have been consistently showing up to meetings and events!

Implementation

During our first meeting we created a google form for our new members to fill out! We then asked CMAA HQ to send us a list of all the new members. We used both files to fill in the certificate templates we created. We also had pineapple pins in our inventory and attached those with the certificates. For the new members that signed up for the mentorship program, the mentors wrote them a hand-written note. We asked our college to provide us a backdrop for pictures and had our president call out the names of each member. We bought a cake and provided soft drinks and ended the night. The members loved this! They raved out the pin because they get to wear it to events like Student Conference and stand out. The mentees also really appreciated the handwritten notes and the cake!
